Perfectly Stumped Greetings
I was thrilled to design a custom holiday greeting card for some very close friends this past season. The original idea was for a stylish gold and green – a twist on the original Christmas hues. Classy, simple and unique was the goal. The snowflake added a splash of pizazz and of course the gorgeous photo, completes the custom card…pair it with matching gold shimmer envelopes and Voila! Such a fun project…so much learning along the way. Here is a quick run down: solid blocks of color = unimaginably challenging to print (must be time to check how level the press is)…shimmery envelopes = take way longer to dry… shimmery inks = not all that they promise to be (at least on this first trial run).
I had a bunch of extra prints and enjoyed experimenting with cutting them apart to create custom gift tags (tied with twine, of course!) and custom labels for wrapping! I have to say, wrapping up the order gives me almost as much satisfaction as printing. I wrapped up these with twine and funky ribbons and snapped some photos in front of our Christmas tree – such a fun backdrop!
I am stoked to try foil stamping on holiday cards in 2012 for an extra kick – stay tuned guys!
